This is Halloween!

*dances* Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. As a kid I never got to do the normal trick-or-treat or get costumes, or even celebrate it. Since four years ago (and another fellow writer) I have begun to appreciate it :D. I dress up in a costume every year too. Last year I was a vampire, this year I am Vanellope Von Schweetz. I created my costume myself! Geez, what can’t this girl do :P.

Anyway, on this joyous day I am going to: go to costco in costume, pick up my steampunk poison ivy friend from work (in costume :P), and go trick-or-treating.

After I write for a while since HA! NaNo is tomorrow and I wanted to get FotN2 finished before then…. I don’t think it is going to happen. I might get really darn close…. <_< FotN2 why are you soooo troublesome!? *ahem*

Time to ww with my writer friend. LATER!

The Countdown

With thirteen days until National Novel Writing Month 2013 I am suffering writing withdrawals! So I am turning withdrawal into awesome! I am going to try and at least sketch something every day that has to do with my Novel.

NaNo2013 Book Cover <— read it there. It tells you everything, like background, base used, and fonts 😀

Picture 1. This is the Book Cover for my new novel. Isn't it purty? It took me about 4 hours to do (mostly because I was at work at the time). Ten minutes to put the base on paper, 1 hour of figuring out what kind of clothes they wore and how their hair was done, 20 minutes of sketching it, 1 hour of linearting it, 30 minutes of putting it onto my computer, and then 1 hour of coloring it :D. I have fun can you tell?

Anyway, blurb about my story:

“You think you know the legend of Arthur? Think again.

Arthur’s tale is re-imagined in this tale of fantasy, betrayal, and sorrow. Told from the point of view of Salvidor Rasinco–a wizard under the title of Merlin, Sabas Delano–A prince born from an unholy union, Syndia Kedamento–a witch who comes from a lake, and Brenna Darkblade–Sabas’ half sister.

Get ready for a tale of wonder and excitement, spanning over years of time in a planned trilogy. Curse of an Ancient Kingdom will make you rethink Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. The woes of Morgana La Faye. And The Woman of the Lake and her relationship with Merlin.”

See you later! Keep Being Awesome!

Lydia really needs to get her act together

So one of my resolutions (yes, I am starting it early) is to actually blog! -{<}_{<}-. I have just been so busy that I think that I really just don’t have time. That is completely incorrect. I have plenty of time… I just usually spend it doing other things. So, today marks a new day. I will post a blog post every Friday. If I don’t I am not allowed to get any cookies. Take that me!

In all seriousness though, I am looking forward to NaNo2013. I know that originally I thought I would give this up and only do it every other year, but you know what? It’s part of who I really am. I enjoy writing, and I enjoy the challenge. This year I will complete a novel and I will have fun doing it -{<}_{<}-. Yes, I am talking to myself while writing a blog, but it is 2 in the morning right now and I had a long night at work and am looking at a long day tomorrow. There, have a preview of my NaNoWriMo WIP Cover for my next story. Isn’t it purty?

Anyway, ADD moment over, Focus, Leda!

My NaNoWriMo in the works is an Arthurian Legend my style. I LOVE Arthurian Legends and did a lot of research back in the day. I found all of it again XD. So I plan on writing it during NaNo. Next week I’ll post my research notes. This time however, enjoy some old writings of little Lydia. This bit of story I am about to show you was written in the year 2007 during a made up thing called: Summer Novel Writing Month on an old forum I was a part of. At the time I wrote it, it was about three in the morning and a bunch of us were just writing. Suddenly I started cracking up because the line was so horrible. Anyway, here you go. A little bit of “We Will Always Be Forever Friends.” Written by 18 year old Leda:

Saria smirked and circled him. “Do you still think that you can beat me?”

“I think that I can if I don’t watch your eyes.” He said thrusting at her.

Saria parried the thrust and did a fast attack. Alagos blocked most of the blows, but she disarmed him. The girl placed her sword on the ground and made two ice daggers. The one in her left hand she threw at Alagos. He blocked it with one of his own ice daggers. Saria smiled pretty at him and charged in. The boy blocked her attacks and swung his dagger. The girl gasped when it had hit her on the cheek. Alagos stopped and took another sip of his wine.

Saria healed her cheek and waited for Alagos to return. I have to get to his wine. But how, it’s sure to be well watched.

She jumped back and threw an ice dagger at Alagos. Alagos smirked at her and made some darkness. He threw it at Saria and she made her strongest ice as mirror like as possible. The darkness bounced off the ice and hit Alagos. Saria ran over to the wine goblet and emptied the contents of the vial into it. She made her way back to Alagos and looked over the darkness that held him trapped.

“Are you alright?” She asked.

A hand materialized from the abyss and gripped her throat, “That was downright evil, my love, but wonderful to behold.”

“Thank you,” Saria said hoarsely. “Now will you release me?”
