Trigger Excerpt and Beauty and the Beast Skirts

I bought a Beauty and the Beast Skirt from hottopic last week and was finally able to wear it today. It was on clearance so I wanted to get it before it was gone! I love the story of Beauty and Beast so much, because of the moral of the story. “Beauty is found within.” That was how I got to being the person I am was because of that story. I tend to look at people not because of how they look but because of who they are. And that shows up in my writing as well :D.

So here I am in my lovely B&tB skirt 😀Image

I loves it!

I am also happy because I got my new phone and contract under my parents. Let’s hope these next two years will be fine with phones…. Last time I upgraded my phone two months later it was stolen, then I got one from amazon (which turned out to have been dropped in water ><), that had to be fixed so many times it would have been better for me to buy a new one. So now I got a new one and safe it will stay!

Now getting on to Trigger. Not only am I writing the story, but I am not writing it linear… Some of it yes, other parts of it no. So this excerpt was not written linear to the story. If I had to guess where it would go, I’d say maybe at the earliest chapter 25 at the latest chapter 37. I also have part of a chapter written for the second book. Right now the story is going slow because of the war meeting going on. There’s a lot of my friend’s cameos in there as well XD.

Write on dudes!

It’s Our Time To Change it All!

Holy cow it was a very busy few months. I ended up finding a job in late november, got sick on christmas, was sick through new years (it was a very evil cold/flu), and then got a second job I started on a monday. *rubs temples* So darn busy.

On the plus side on my happy little note, I am able to write in my spare time (there isn’t much) and between that and drawing commissions I have my hands full. I’ve written a good thousand words in Trigger in the time being. I plan on having it finished by my birthday and then doing all sorts of major edits with it XD. It has gotten my stepmom’s stamp of approval (and that means a lot to me! since her stamp as golden as Lily’s from How I met Your Mother). So I wanna have it done and published by her birthday (as an awesome birthday present).

Now I gotta head out to see a movie with my friend so I will leave you with the song on repeat for right now! Check back next week for another excerpt from Trigger!

Life, The Universe, and Everything

So, I lost my job, yet again. <.<. And the letter they gave me was all lies and politics. All of my excoworkers even said that they were amazed that they let me go. In all honesty… I am pretty pissed. So here are some pros and cons:

1. No job (It’s a pain but it’s part of life)

2. It’s seasonal season here so finding a job is hard

3. They flipping lied in order to get me completely fired (even the guy who handed me the letter after reading it said that it was stupid)

4. That is on my record now >_<

5. No money for Christmas presents for my family and friends 😦

1. More time to write my NaNo (or any other novels for that matter) while looking for another job

2. More time to actually work out and not be a lard on the couch (gonna be getting up at 8am every day again!)

3. Actually get things cleaned and organized.

4. More time to draw! And do things that actually matter to me

5. I can apply for unemployment (thus have some money to pay bills and such)

6. Write in this blog 😛

In other news things are otherwise going great! I have food, a home, boyfriend, his brother, and two loverly kitties that love me :D. Things couldn’t be happier. I just need to find a job that will let me work there for more than a year. Just keep smiling and moving forward. That’s all I can do.

NaNo has officially begun!

Dun, dun, dun!

I am writing this with 11 minutes to go until NaNo, mostly as a prep to make sure that I am up to par in writing. So here’s a list of things I want to include in my story!

(10 minutes to go!)

1. The Line: “That was downright evil, my (love, brother, sister, whomever!), but wonderful!” In the past NaNos that I have done I have included that line into everyone. There’s a whole story behind it and many laughs were to be had from it. I love to put it into them as it has become a sort of Trademark for me XD.

2. A mention of the Elements (my characters), be it only Leon and Reina, or even some of their kids. Something has to tie it all together.

3. A character from a past NaNo (especially since this story time jumps, not like time travel, but anyway…).

4. Actually WRITE the story I want to write and not head off on bunny trails <_<. I have done that for the past several nanos (which is why I don’t really finish them… because I hate how much editing it will need to have <_<).

5. Write in this blog at least weekly, in order to keep everyone updated on it all.

6. Write to my playlist. Or at least use certain songs for scenes (I am currently listening to: “All the Myths are True” by Abney Park to prepare to write the Prologue. I get to write about King Arthurian Legends and how it ties into my world <.< >.> <.<. Funness.

7. Don’t give up!!!!!!!!! I WILL finish NaNo and I WILL like my story <_<. Yes, I am toughloving myself right now XD.

(5 minutes to go!)

That’s all I got for things that I want to include in my NaNo. I am having too much fun with everything and it is going to be glorious when all of this is over. I kind of feel like Spike from the episode where Twilight time travels XD. “That’s future Lydia’s problem!” in this case, it’s more like “That’s future Lydia’s celebration dance.” then Future Lydia will look back and go: “Well, past Lydia freaked out for no reason.”

Now this Writer is going to stop writing this blog since there are only three more minutes before NaNo starts officially! Must write my story! <.< >.> <.<! Everything is going to be fun and awesome!

Lydia out! Keep being Awesome!

This is Halloween!

*dances* Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. As a kid I never got to do the normal trick-or-treat or get costumes, or even celebrate it. Since four years ago (and another fellow writer) I have begun to appreciate it :D. I dress up in a costume every year too. Last year I was a vampire, this year I am Vanellope Von Schweetz. I created my costume myself! Geez, what can’t this girl do :P.

Anyway, on this joyous day I am going to: go to costco in costume, pick up my steampunk poison ivy friend from work (in costume :P), and go trick-or-treating.

After I write for a while since HA! NaNo is tomorrow and I wanted to get FotN2 finished before then…. I don’t think it is going to happen. I might get really darn close…. <_< FotN2 why are you soooo troublesome!? *ahem*

Time to ww with my writer friend. LATER!

The Countdown

With thirteen days until National Novel Writing Month 2013 I am suffering writing withdrawals! So I am turning withdrawal into awesome! I am going to try and at least sketch something every day that has to do with my Novel.

NaNo2013 Book Cover <— read it there. It tells you everything, like background, base used, and fonts 😀

Picture 1. This is the Book Cover for my new novel. Isn't it purty? It took me about 4 hours to do (mostly because I was at work at the time). Ten minutes to put the base on paper, 1 hour of figuring out what kind of clothes they wore and how their hair was done, 20 minutes of sketching it, 1 hour of linearting it, 30 minutes of putting it onto my computer, and then 1 hour of coloring it :D. I have fun can you tell?

Anyway, blurb about my story:

“You think you know the legend of Arthur? Think again.

Arthur’s tale is re-imagined in this tale of fantasy, betrayal, and sorrow. Told from the point of view of Salvidor Rasinco–a wizard under the title of Merlin, Sabas Delano–A prince born from an unholy union, Syndia Kedamento–a witch who comes from a lake, and Brenna Darkblade–Sabas’ half sister.

Get ready for a tale of wonder and excitement, spanning over years of time in a planned trilogy. Curse of an Ancient Kingdom will make you rethink Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table. The woes of Morgana La Faye. And The Woman of the Lake and her relationship with Merlin.”

See you later! Keep Being Awesome!

Lydia really needs to get her act together

So one of my resolutions (yes, I am starting it early) is to actually blog! -{<}_{<}-. I have just been so busy that I think that I really just don’t have time. That is completely incorrect. I have plenty of time… I just usually spend it doing other things. So, today marks a new day. I will post a blog post every Friday. If I don’t I am not allowed to get any cookies. Take that me!

In all seriousness though, I am looking forward to NaNo2013. I know that originally I thought I would give this up and only do it every other year, but you know what? It’s part of who I really am. I enjoy writing, and I enjoy the challenge. This year I will complete a novel and I will have fun doing it -{<}_{<}-. Yes, I am talking to myself while writing a blog, but it is 2 in the morning right now and I had a long night at work and am looking at a long day tomorrow. There, have a preview of my NaNoWriMo WIP Cover for my next story. Isn’t it purty?

Anyway, ADD moment over, Focus, Leda!

My NaNoWriMo in the works is an Arthurian Legend my style. I LOVE Arthurian Legends and did a lot of research back in the day. I found all of it again XD. So I plan on writing it during NaNo. Next week I’ll post my research notes. This time however, enjoy some old writings of little Lydia. This bit of story I am about to show you was written in the year 2007 during a made up thing called: Summer Novel Writing Month on an old forum I was a part of. At the time I wrote it, it was about three in the morning and a bunch of us were just writing. Suddenly I started cracking up because the line was so horrible. Anyway, here you go. A little bit of “We Will Always Be Forever Friends.” Written by 18 year old Leda:

Saria smirked and circled him. “Do you still think that you can beat me?”

“I think that I can if I don’t watch your eyes.” He said thrusting at her.

Saria parried the thrust and did a fast attack. Alagos blocked most of the blows, but she disarmed him. The girl placed her sword on the ground and made two ice daggers. The one in her left hand she threw at Alagos. He blocked it with one of his own ice daggers. Saria smiled pretty at him and charged in. The boy blocked her attacks and swung his dagger. The girl gasped when it had hit her on the cheek. Alagos stopped and took another sip of his wine.

Saria healed her cheek and waited for Alagos to return. I have to get to his wine. But how, it’s sure to be well watched.

She jumped back and threw an ice dagger at Alagos. Alagos smirked at her and made some darkness. He threw it at Saria and she made her strongest ice as mirror like as possible. The darkness bounced off the ice and hit Alagos. Saria ran over to the wine goblet and emptied the contents of the vial into it. She made her way back to Alagos and looked over the darkness that held him trapped.

“Are you alright?” She asked.

A hand materialized from the abyss and gripped her throat, “That was downright evil, my love, but wonderful to behold.”

“Thank you,” Saria said hoarsely. “Now will you release me?”

Fire of the Night Progress

Just in case y’all think that I have forgotten that I left you hanging in Dangerous Beginnings, I have not. I’m working on writing and editing Friendly Enemies while in the process of writing all of my other stories. It just took a little detour XD. I promise though I am writing Fire of the Night 2.

Here’s a sneakpeak so that you can see what is awaiting you when I finish the story:

1516, Delano Keep, Elven Kingdom, Jericho

“Is everything in place?” Marak asked, his black eyes sparkling.

Aidan Delano smirked. “Of course, grandfather. The traitor will soon be dead.”

“Excelent. What of the Rasinco girl and your uncle?”

“I intend to have dear uncle Rajan name me heir of his throne.” Aidan flashed a truly wicked grin. “I have managed to keep him thinking that he needs to marry for the best of his lands and that Jasmine isn’t right. As for her, I intend to make her mine once Rajan is out of the picture.”

Marak raised a brow. “Aidan, Jasmine is almost thirty-one years old.”

“That is in human years. She stopped aging at seventeen, because of her fallen blood.”

The Delano king rubbed his bearded chin and nodded. “That is true,” he admitted. “Why her?”

“She is a mix of fighters. Jasmine is the descendent of the Fallen of Warriors, daughter of a phoenix assassin, and daughter of the only Majesti Warlock in Jericho. Once she is somewhat tame she will make fine breeding.”

“Be careful of the phoenixes, lad. they are volatile and will turn on you if it will help them succeed.”

“I understand, grandfather.”

There, see I haven’t forgotten you people XD.

Writing and Drawing

With only a few spare hours during the day of which to do either, I usually end up doing both!

Writing has been my passion since I was little (when I was about 10ish I wrote my first “novel” and it was horrible XD you can read it here on my blog ). I think since then I have improved drastically. Back then I thought writing 2,000 words was a novel! HA! It was daunting to a little kid. Now a word goal of 100,000 words is a challenge. Even just writing 50,000 seems impossible. But I seem to succeed when I put my mind to it.

So far I have published one book on Amazon (you can also find that on my blog). And am currently working on three WIPs.

The first being “Abandoned Highlander” a book I started back in 2009 (and dropped since I have no clue how to write a “normal” romance) and have recently edited to be better (it’s still not a normal Romance. but I have a thing for highlanders {-}-{-};;;.)

The second is “Trigger” a supernatural story set before 12-21-12. I wanted my heroine to be strong and courageous no matter what is thrown her way (since I read so many books where the main character ends up breaking before becoming strong (examples include: The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning (SPOILER: the Main Character ends up raped), Vampire Academy by Rachelle Mead (SPOILERS: the main character ends up seeing her lover get killed), and many others). So I wanted someone who was already strong to begin with. A smart alec that could do anything.

And the third is my story Weaving Arrows (which I’ve been working on since 2007 which was my first National Novel Writing Month). I’ve been trying to perfect this booger since then and everytime I get close the Characters change on me {>}-{<} it gets so annoying! But I preserver and try to keep everything together.

Now on to Drawing. Drawing is a fairly new passion for me. I only started drawing four years ago. I refused to draw when I was a kid (for several reasons but a main one was whenever I turned out to be better at something than my mom she sabotaged it, so I didn’t want to ruin it. And yes, I write better than her, so I never showed her my stories (I got smart {^}-{~}).

I started drawing at a friend’s house when she showed me her artwork and all of the tutorials that she had saved from DeviantArt and books she found at a library. I began to honestly love learning how to draw. I really loved the Anime Style and eventually created my own (for some reason I’m obsessed with making eyebrows epic). Chibis became an almost second nature to me. I loved making big heads and little bitty bodies and making them all adorable {^}-{^}.

Chibis seem to take the least amount of time for me. Thus it becomes the one thing that I can draw on a daily basis (and yes I’m FAAAAAAAAAAAAR from being awesome, I know it {^}-{~} but that’s what all artists (of any craft, be it writing or drawing) need. A way to perfect their style). I do honestly throw away more drawings than I keep. But that’s ok. Because it means that I just need to try, try again.

Full bodies are harder for me. Because I suck at hands (I’ve gotten better since my first drawings where I ended up just hiding them XD). I usually use my own hand for reference. If it’s a left hand however, I end up looking things up just to be able to make it better.

Anyway, there are my thoughts on my two favorite crafts.

Happy Writing.

As a bonus! another excerpt from Trigger
